Training and background
Maria C. Tello, founder of Working Sabbatical, is a somatic self-trust coach. She is a Brennan-trained somatic healing practitioner, energy coach, facilitator and teacher. Her work helps women deepen their self-trust by working with the personal and generational patterns beneath what they carry. She works one to one and with groups, online or in person in Austin. While her focus is women, she also works with men.
Training

Seven years of professional training
Founded in 1982, the school is internationally recognized for its rigorous training of four years and more in human development, transpersonal psychology, the human energy field and deep personal transformation, preparing practitioners to support clients through change.
Its roots run through Core Energetics, the body-centered approach developed by psychiatrist Dr. John Pierrakos, in a direct lineage to Sigmund Freud.

Complementary studies
Three years of additional training
Maria also studied Native American healing traditions with Patricia White Buffalo, and Jungian depth work with the collective unconscious and its archetypes.
How this shows up in your sessions
Sessions combine supportive dialogue, where you bring what's alive for you, with gentle somatic and deep energy work. Insight comes forward, what isn't yours can be set down, and the change becomes something you embody and carry into your life, not only understand. Between sessions, custom practices help what we've opened take root.
Working alongside other care
Maria is not a licensed clinical therapist or psychotherapist. Her work complements medical and psychological care, but never replaces it. When helpful, she works alongside a client's physician, therapist or other clinicians in support of their process. She doesn't work with clients who are currently under psychiatric care.
Professional background
Before this work, Maria was Director of Development at a Fortune 500 company, where she led global projects for major clients. She knows both worlds from the inside: the demands of high-paced roles, and the quiet tension when life is asking for more.
She holds a B.S. in Business and an MBA.
Life
Maria lives in Austin, Texas, with her family.
